P.S. For the diligent explorers who have already found a key item, you may have missed the clue that would lead you there! It might be fun to find, if you were so inclined.
With this message in tow, secret finders went on the hunt, and found the clue leading to the key… Uncovering the start of a much bigger secret!
The Inert Peculiar Key Clue
On Day 3 of Guest Relations, players are sent to Borean Tundra to help Rexxar. During that search, players came across a lake full of Distracting Wisp that triggered Idol of Ohn’ahra, but as we could continue the Day 3 questline without interacting with them, they were labeled a simple distraction. However, the wisps were the key to uncovering a much larger secret. The lake had the following clues:
- Fishing in the lake the wisps are hovering over resulted in some very specific items that were previously fished in different zones – Old Chain Link, A Gnome Effigy, Rusted Engineering Parts.
- The most definitive clue is in the lake itself – The wisps bounce up and down, but they never move from their positions. If you fly over them and check them with a bird’s eye view, they resemble a constellation… the Crater constellation.

All these clues bring us to a very iconic questline from Classic World of Warcraft – The Linken’s Adventure questline in Un’Goro Crater, or a love letter to the Legend of Zelda series! A Gnome adventurer represents Linken in WoW. Even the wisp lake itself could be considered a Fairy Fountain.
The previously found Inert Peculiar Key can be found by the tree trunk where Linken originally stood in Un’Goro Crater during Classic WoW – In the now ruins of Marshal’s Refuge in Un’Goro Crater.

This is what was meant to lead us to the location of the Inert Peculiar Key, which seems to be the start of a much bigger secret. We currently do not know where this secret will lead us, but it is possible this is the actual beginning of the steps to obtain the Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle mount!
So, Now What?
This step has been figured out, but honestly there’s not much more currently known. Here’s what we currently know:
