Although a related spell was first discovered on the Patch 11.1.5 PTR, no usable glyph was ever actually added, leaving players wondering when or the customization would make its way into the game. While not a normal tamed pet, the spotting eagle has become a major part of the Marksmanship Hunter toolkit, a pseudo-pet for the petless spec, which appears on command with Intimidation, Roar of Sacrifice, and Feathered Frenzy.

Crafted through Khaz Algar Inscription, no source has been discovered for the new Technique: Glyph of the Strix teaching players how to make the glyph, though it is unlikely to be particularly rare or difficult to come by.
