All Fun and Gatcha Games
Obtaining them isn’t as straightforward as purchasing from the store though. The swimsuit and mount are two of six rewards from a sort of gatcha game, in which players make purchases to randomly draw one of the six potential prizes, with each subsequent draw roughly doubling in price until all six have been obtained.
Questionable purchasing minigame aside, the prizes aren’t half bad, even at full price.
Each of the six prizes can be earned only once.
Starting at just ¥6 RMB (~$0.84 USD), the first draw is quite cheap, though quickly increases to the sixth and final draw costing ¥180 RMB (~$25 USD). Lucky players may get the mount and transmog fairly cheap within their first couple draws, then decide to eschew the lesser rewards, though they’re just as likely to be the fifth and sixth draw instead. The combined total cost is ¥410 RMB (~$57 USD), which still isn’t a bad price, all things considered.
Void Bound Swimsuit
The set is quite minimal and may be a little better suited to some characters than others, though it does feature a very dashing hat.
Several Chinese players have also shared their own poolside looks in the new set.
Voidforged Overseer
The Voidforged Overseer is a recolor of the Fractal Cypher of the Zereth Overseer earned from Mythic Jailer in Sepulcher of the First Ones. Described as a construct of the First Ones stolen by the brokers and sold to ethereals, it has been modified with the mysteries of the aether to glide through the air with elegance and a trail of stardust. Sounds pretty sweet, and no trips to Zereth Mortis required!
Anniversary Angler Boat and Outfit
Separate from the gatcha game is another transmog outfit and toy originally revealed during China’s 20th Anniversary livestream. The exclusive items are sold as part of a special anniversary bundle including several mounts, pets, 2,000 Trader’s Tender, 365 days of Game Time, and a Level 80 Classic boost for ¥888 RMB (~$124 USD).
Aside from the outfit and toy, all of these items are or were already available in the rest of the world, with the Herald of Sa’bak mount obtainable for free from the most recent 6 month subscription promotion.
The boat floats, sort of, similar to the Anglers Fishing Raft.
