Atm LFG groups in EU are filled every time of the day with dozens of “WTS” groups , that are straight up advertising their websites in the description about RMT boosting and whatnot , and our EU Blizz does nothing with it…such a shame…

As long as they don’t get rid of carries for gold (not piloting, just actual gold-economy based transactions).

How blizzard is unable to parse “WTS” in the group browser is beyond me. They literally link their websites for RMT.
On NA If I go to SW I can always find bots. Some are class trials selling TCG mounts, how blizzard bans one character and calls it a day is beyond me.
Also level 10 pandaren DK’s should have harsher restrictions on chat if you are a new account.

nothing will happen to that they already said that was totally fine, hence the services channel on wow. 😀 just no account sharing or RMT.

Because their strat revolves around waiting 6 or more months to do something, because if not, somehow the cheaters/sellers will figure out that they’re taking action and…
Yeah, I know, its the usual Blizzard’s BS, they want the metrics and also sell tokens. That means leaving RMT and everything else happening just like that.
It baffles everyone that they don’t do anything and people just spam WTS with RMT links on it in LFG (don’t bother reporting, you refresh the list and they show again).

There’s no indication that they’re going after gold sales or traditional carries (e.g. 18 raiders carrying 2 dead buyers), which is exactly why many of the established CN sales groups are swapping over to that style. Most of those sales will still violate the rules because they’re largely done through RMT, but because those transactions are handled outside of the game, it’s much harder to definitively prove and punish them for it.
- There’s a very obvious record when someone else logs into your account for a piloted sale.
- Likewise, if two accounts that have never interacted before trade a giant pile of gold, it creates a clear suspicion that some kind of RMT is going on.
- But just being carried through a raid isn’t inherently against any rules, even it’s also a little suspicions. More importantly, it’s harder to track in the first place, since people pug and group with previously unknown players for group content all the time, so as long as any exchange is discussed and conducted outside of the game, it’s very hard to prove one took place at all.
So as said in the article, they’re taking action, but not really stopping sales, so much as just making them harder and more expensive. This will have a long-term effect on their viability, affecting profit-margins and the like,, but it’s not going to be a quick solution.
