Loot Filters
While there was no confirmation of Loot Filters, Blizzard did admit that they have reached the limit on their behind-the-scenes “Smart Filtering”. With Diablo 4 Season 10, Magic and Rare items will no longer drop in torment tiers, which goes a long way in de-cluttering the loot drops. At some point however, more granular decision-making with loot is warranted, especially towards the end of the season when players are no longer looking for their build-enabling items anymore and want to target perfection. Blizzard is acutely aware of this problem, and looking at ways to implement an easy way to help filtering out all the loot players are not interested in.
Leaderboards
The Leaderboard discussion was an interesting one, with Design Director Dan Tanguay making note that players “looking for leaderboards that show mastery of their build and whatever situation we can throw at them,” and that a lot of their discussion is centered around making a Leaderboard System that “keeps players on their toes.” This most likely means that Pit Leaderboards are not coming to Diablo 4, much to the dismay of many people in the community.
The wording implies that Blizzard is instead looking at a system similar to the Challenge Rift systems from Diablo 3, which was also later adapted for Diablo Immortal. These Challenge Rift style systems give players a difficult, but controlled environment which is instanced and separate from content already in the game, which is most likely why Leaderboards are taking so long to implement.
