Mists of Pandaria Classic Phase 3 Overview
Reins of the Thundering Cobalt Cloud Serpent
This Cloud Serpent mount Reins of the Thundering Cobalt Cloud Serpent can only be obtained as a very rare drop from Nalak in the Isle of Thunder. While not everyone will be lucky to obtain this exceedingly rare mount, you can use a Mogu Rune of Fate to improve your odds from “I don’t think so” to “maybe next week”.
Nalak Location, Abilities, and Loot Guide
Using this mount requires Cloud Serpent Riding, which requires Exalted reputation with Order of the Cloud Serpent, though thankfully that’s not required to get the actual mount to drop.
Spawn of Horridon
You know what’s more terrifying than a gigantic, three-horned monstrosity charging at you in battle? To see a smaller, but equally terrifying version of it with your worst enemy riding it, that person who died 10 seconds into the fight, and still looted this! Don’t be that person; read the guide, learn the fight, and most importantly—pray to whatever RNG gods you believe in to award you this mount.

Clutch of Ji-Kun
The majestic Clutch of Ji-Kun drops from (you guessed it), Ji-Kun in the Throne of Thunder. It is a somewhat complex encounter for first-timers, so be sure to read on the strategies, and hope for the best. Good luck!

Reins of the Cobalt Primordial Direhorn
There are several new Direhorn mounts in the Throne of Thunder update. The Reins of the Cobalt Primordial Direhorn is available as a very rare drop from Oondasta in the Isle of Giants. Oondasta is fond of littering the shores of the Isle of Giants with the bones of those who can’t dodge frontal attacks, and will bestow this direhorn mount upon a lucky recipient. Using a Mogu Rune of Fate may slightly increase your odds as well.

Other Primordial Direhorn Mounts
Three more Primordial Direhorn mounts are available as rare drops from the menacing Zandalari Warbringers. These are much more generous, with higher drop rates than the raid boss mounts above, and only requiring a small group to defeat (some classes can even solo them).
When you spot a Zandalari Warbringer in the wild, pay attention to the mount they’re riding. That will clue you in on whether you’ll receive a Reins of the Amber Primordial Direhorn, Reins of the Jade Primordial Direhorn, or a Reins of the Slate Primordial Direhorn.
Assuming, of course, you’re… lucky enough to get it, as the mount drops aren’t guaranteed. Even if you don’t get any mounts, their other drops are worth it, so expect to run into some competition when hunting these down.
Which one of these mounts are you hoping to get next? Better lucky than good, right? Let us know in the comments!
