Introduced all the way back in Warlords of Draenor, raid skips are nothing new, though the transition to a renown track instead of the traditional quest version has resulted in a few unique differences and limitations to be aware of:
- Mug’zee only needs to have been defeated once to complete the quest, unlike past quests requiring 3-4 victories.
- Completing the quest on a higher difficulty does enable the skip on lower ones, though the quest is also still available.
- Quest completion does not appear to be account-wide.
- If anyone in the group activates the skip, it is available to everyone.
- You cannot backtrack to the One-Armed Bandit after skipping, his door remains locked.
Once you’ve reached Rank 5 Renown, Lentil Sprocket will have a new quest after defeating Vexie, asking you to defeat Mug’zee in order to enable it. While she’ll normally take you through the raid after having defeated certain bosses during that lockout, the skip will allow you to use the VIP entrance even while those bosses are still up, though unfortunately most players won’t be able to utilize this until next week instead.
