Onyxia’s Lair Raid Overview Molten Core Raid Overview
While preparing for their next raid, deedge_live and his group suffered from some technical difficulties when their Discord call began to lag right before they pulled Illyanna Ravenoak & Ferra in Dire Maul West. While the Mage of the group cast Polymorph on Ferra, the other members of the group were not able to communicate, leading to a chaotic moment, resulting in the deaths of their tank, Denakina, and their Priest, Varmell.
On the final encounter of Upper Blackrock Spire, Xaryu’s group was prepared to pull General Drakkisath and deal with his two Chromatic Elite Guards. Unfortunately, the Shaman healer of the group, Xzane, was unexpectedly hit by General Drakkisath’s Conflagration and did not call it out until it was too late.
After dying in last week’s Onyxia raid, Savix decided to reroll as a Mage. During a run of Wailing Caverns, the streamer became distracted, leading to his second death within a week.
During a run of Stratholme Undead, the Priest of the group, Sillyanne, was affected by Baroness Anastari’s Possess, and was forced to use her Psychic Scream ability. This sent SONII running toward a group of enemies, but luckily he was able to use a Limited Invulnerability Potion to stay alive and retake control of the encounter.
After winning a duel against a level 21 Shaman on his level 23 Priest, Pikabooirl was once again challenged by the same Shaman, this time to a Mak’Gora. As Pikaboo accepted the challenge, the nefarious Shaman swapped to his enchanted Auction House gear, expecting to trounce the former Gladiator.
However, this victory would be short-lived when Pikaboo went to Molten Core with loltyler1 just a few days later. The run was smooth, with zero deaths, until the raid engaged Baron Geddon. At 5% remaining health, the raid leader made the call to stay in and finish the boss, however, the raid was split and they were unable to deal enough damage in time, resulting in the deaths of tyler, Pikaboo, ahmpy, Whaazz, Mirlol, Meteos, and Mancoslx.
The next day, another raid group led by Mizkif, ventured into the same raid. During the very first boss, Lucifron, summit1g used his Blade Flurry ability, which killed Quin69 while he was under the effects of Dominate Mind.
As the group approached Baron Geddon, they were determined to not make the same mistakes as the previous group. While Baron Geddon himself did not kill any of the raid members, some of them were not paying close attention to their Living Bomb debuff, which ultimately led to the deaths of MOONMOON and VtheVictim.
While there were a few losses, the group ultimately made their way to Ragnaros, where they would fully clear Molten Core.
After his death at the hand of Ragnaros last week, Gunnar decided to roll another Warrior. After making it to level 49, his group became overwhelmed by enemies leading up to the entrance of Maraudon.
