Jewelcrafting in Midnight Profession Overview in Midnight
What’s New with Midnight Jewelcrafting?
Jewelcrafting in The War Within saw some major changes, adding significant depth to the crafting system, and that depth continues in Midnight with Midnight Jewelcrafting. The specialization trees to hone in on specific cuts are still around, so prepare for picking your favorites and making a beeline towards them – but one big change should make things easier all around for high-value Eversong Diamond cuts.
Meta gems have historically been some of the most valuable gem cuts Jewelcrafters produce, both monetarily and stat budget and effect-wise. Because of this, they are incredibly difficult to craft at high quality, especially in the earlier parts of an expansion cycle. The War Within is a prime example of this: to craft a max quality Blasphemite gem, max skill, +40 skill from Profession equipment, and 170 Knowledge Points invested in the proper specializations were required.
Now, in Midnight, the new Meta gem will require only a 30 Knowledge Point investment, plus max skill and Profession equipment bonuses. This is because the skill level required is being reduced from 585 to 280, making the gems significantly more accessible – and much earlier than anticipated. They only take one node’s worth of investment into the Glamorous Gems Specialization!
