In Shadowlands, players were able to participate in several Covenant activities depending on which Covenant they were aligned to. The Kyrian Covenant boasted the Path of Ascension activity, allowing players to earn Kyrian-themed cosmetics while battling through an arena-like minigame, with several levels of difficulty. The hardest level, the Trials of Humility, rewarded Discordant recolors of the cosmetics, with ensembles such as Ensemble: Garb of the Discordant and individual pieces like Discordant Bearer’s Cloak available for purchase once the appropriate achievement was earned.
Now, in Patch 11.0.7, this Covenant event will finally allow players to purchase any Ensemble on one character, regardless of armor type, as long as the player has earned the appropriate achievement.
- Orluna the Kyrian Path of Ascension armor vendor now allows any class to buy her Discordant cosmetics, regardless of armor type.
Prior to Patch 11.0, unlike other similar Covenant achievements, Disciple of Humility was not account-wide, meaning that in order to purchase all four armor type ensembles, players would need to complete the achievement four separate times on different characters. When the achievement became account-wide during The War Within’s prepatch, many hoped that they would be able to bypass this problem by using one character and passing the Ensembles to alts via the Warband Bank, but Orluna only offered their corresponding armor type as wares.
Kyrian Covenant Rewards
The Path of Ascension was one of the more controversial Covenant minigames in Shadowlands due to its many bugs and challenging gameplay. Requiring players to enter combat in the form of a covenant NPC, many expressed frustration that the challenge could not be outgeared over the course of the expansion, leading to many creative and unintended strategies being developed to defeat the overtuned bosses, such as dropping a Darkmoon Seesaw and using it to exit the NPC vehicle while in the arena to burst down a boss naturally. Many of these strategies were patched out over the course of Shadowlands, leaving players to have to complete many of the challenges the old fashioned way.
