Noblegarden Guide
The Duck Disguiser ruffled some feathers last Noblegarden when it was introduced – at first, players seemed happy to have another transformation toy available, particularly one with a relatively short cooldown, but it was quickly apparent that each color duck disguise was character-specific. With six different options, what would normally be a cute new addition to a revamped holiday quickly became a six-year project just to have all options available for one character.
While the initial disappointment was met with a statement from Blizzard that the toy and its unlock timegate were working as intended, many players still hoped for a more player-friendly fix for this second iteration of Noblegarden. Instead, players must complete the same short questline from Zinnia Brooks or Sylnaria Fareflame and then remember to choose a different Disguise reward than they’ve already earned – the known one isn’t even removed from the reward options.
Two down, four to go….
Blizzard has consistently moved more towards an account-wide baseline for collectibles such as cosmetics, toys, pets, and mounts, which makes the case of the Duck Disguiser even more confusing. This toy is a prime candidate to have Warband interactions – meaning account-bound Disguises earned on alts would be perfect to populate the toy with its full selection. Instead, in its current iteration, the Duck Disguiser toy holds the dubious record of being the Holiday item with the longest playtime required to complete, beating out infamous achievements such as Veteran Nanny (when it previously required collecting them all on one character) and What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been.
